John’s accident at work claim settles for £200,000 (Lisburn)

John worked as a warehouse deliveryman and part of his job was loading 40ft trailers. Whilst performing this particular duty he was inside the trailer and part of the load moved. The trailer contents crushed him against the side of the inside of the trailer. John was left with a significantly fractured pelvis and other difficulties associated with this type of injury. He also suffered from severe nervous shock. In the early weeks and months following the accident he was badly incapacitated and required assistance with many day-to-day activities.

John was unable to return to work for quite some time

When he did eventually return to work, John was only able to perform light duties on a part-time basis. He contacted us in hopes of pursuing compensation for his injuries. We took on his case and he was thrilled when we informed him that we could also recover his loss of earnings. We issued proceedings and liability was quickly admitted by his understanding employer. We commissioned reports from a consultant orthopaedic surgeon, a psychiatrist, an occupational therapy consultant and forensic chartered accountant. These reports helped us prove how much we believed John was entitled to in damages. The matter subsequently came up for hearing and settled in the sum of £200,000.
