Carol’s trip claim for a minor settles For £9000 (Carrickfergus)

We helped Carol and her son claim following a slip and fall in a Carrickfergus play park.

Carol’s son was playing in a council-run park in Carrickfergus, climbing along a ramp. Unfortunately, the access ramp he was climbing along had previously been vandalised and the non-slip cover burnt off. Without the non-slip cover, the child slipped and fell from the ramp onto the ground below. As a result of his fall, Carol’s son fractured a bone in his forearm.

Six Months to Recover

After being diagnosed as suffering from a fracture of his distal radius ulna, the young boy started along the road to recovery.  It took a total of six months for him to make a full recovery from the injury. A lifetime at such an age.

The Defendant Admits Liability

Paschal O’Hare solicitors in Carrickfergus were more than happy to put our expertise to good use in helping Carol and her son. The Council admitted liability and settlement was subject to Court Approval.  The case subsequently came up for approval before Belfast County Court where it was approved in the sum of £9,000. The compensation money along with Court Funds will go to Carol’s son on his 18th Birthday – quite a present.

If a minor that is dependent on you is injured in an accident, you have 3 years from their 18th birthday to claim. For more information on how we can help you like we did with Carol, contact us for a free no obligation discussion today.
