Gerald’s car accident claim settles for £7,500 (Newtownabbey)

Gerald was driving his car in Newtownabbey with his wife and three young children as passengers. A car travelling in the opposite direction suddenly veered into his path causing a violent collision. Gerald and his family were understandably very distressed by the incident, particularly when they realised how significant the damage to both cars was.

As a result of the collision, Gerald found himself in considerable pain. He suffered soft tissue injuries to his neck, shoulders and upper back, which is consistent with whiplash. He also developed pain in both wrists, forearms and upper arms. He had further pain in his hands, hips, knees, ankles and feet. When the pain persisted, Gerald attended Antrim Area Hospital and was subsequently referred for physiotherapy. All things considered, Gerald felt lucky that the injuries were not more severe and moreover, that his family was miraculously unharmed.

Gerald contacted Paschal O’Hare Solicitors

We sent a letter of claim to the other driver’s insurer, and liability for the accident was admitted. We had Gerald examined by a consultant orthopaedic surgeon who provided us with a medical report which confirmed the soft tissue injuries.

We entered negotiations with the third-party insurance company and agreed a settle in the amount of £7,500.
